Apps, Tips and Inspiration for Phone Photography

 While waiting for a new computer I have been exploring phone photography.  I thought I would share some of the information that I have found.   To start I would like to introduce the App Whisperer.   This is a wonderful site for inspiration (they feature top photos/mobile art of the day), tutorials, showcases interviews etc.

I had always heard of Distressed Textures and admired images that I have seen created with it in a FB group.

The above video were created by Rad Drew.  I was not familiar with him but he has a whole series of videos that you might find interesting.

I also tried Formulas and found his tutorial on that app very helpful.   


Please add any apps or information that you think would be helpful to this thread.

Thanks for creating this thread. I love Distressed FX app. I was saddened by the passing of Cheryl Tarrant, behind Distressed FX.
These are some of my main iPhone editing apps I really love playing with:
STACKABLES (textures)
Waterlogue… watercolor result
Brushstroke… painting
Glaze …. Painting
Impresso … stroke-filled impressionist result
Diana Photo …. Double exposure
iColorama S … photo editing/ art creations
Tangled FX …. Fractilius result and assorted results
GoDaddy Studio (I use all the time) works in layers
Canva … photo editor/graphic design templates

Lillias , I wondered what phone you had as these apps look like something you would like.

christell ….thank you so much for all of the additions you made to this thread.  I have always admired your work and knew you used your phone for much of it.  I will check out your recommendations.  Sadly I don’t think you can get stackables anymore.  I know one of the members from a FB group recommends that as well.

I have been playing with the current image for the Endless Possibilities Challenge.  If you have the time it would be fun to see what you could do with it.

You will laugh when I tell you...I believe nowadays they call it a ‘dumb’ phone. I can make and receive calls and receive and send sms messages on it and that’s it.
No internet access which suits me fine as I only have it for emergencies when I am out and about.
