There were some genuinely exceptional images on display this fortnight, so it was a real struggle keeping to just a few; I could have selected many others. But in the interests of brevity I have gone with the following, in the order they were posted. srmoment and Snack Time. What a wonderful demonstration of how to have an artistic vision, and then to bring it to life. But I also loved the gentle humour of a magnificent beast in full Monarch of the Glen splendour not roaring out a challenge to his rivals, but actually straining for a nibble. i.ibb.co/VV5dkM7/buck-DSC04295-2023.jpgHoward and Tokyo. One of those images I really wish I had taken but just don’t have the vision for. It no doubt breaks a whole book of composition rules yet Howard has everything just right, the stairs provide such a burst of colour and interest, and the figure leads you into the mystery of the room. What will happen? i.postimg.cc/x1tstnb8/Tokyo-016.jpgmart44 and Trapped. Quirky and clever. I challenge anyone to look at this and not smile. The third time in this selection that I find myself using the word ‘vision’ when explaining what I like about it, and again it isn’t just about having the thought, but then to spend the time and skill to create it, just for the joy of it. Thank you Mart for doing so. i.ibb.co/Jjygqxh/Dice.jpgpontiac1940 and Northern Lights No 3. My words cannot enhance the natural beauty any more than Clive has done so I won’t say anything. Just admire. i.ibb.co/TkkM6tW/aurora-CAS01696.jpgThanks again to everyone that has shared their images (and visions) these last couple of weeks, I look forward to the next time.

Great choices, alexr . I always enjoy your commentary but I especially liked your comments on Mart's image. I had completely missed the "trapped images". Very clever, Mart. Congratulations to Pat, Howard and Clive as well. Wonderful images to add to the 2023 IOW Gallery.

Sincere thanks for choosing my photo. And perhaps moreso for your explanation.
It makes up for the wrath of my wife. reasonably incurred because she had to wait quite some time for me until someone appeared on the stairs.
For those curious, despite the seedy/sleazy look, the sign translates to Business Centre. Though it doesn't clarify what type of business.
Again thank you.
