I swiped the photo from a cousin's obituary to post on her Find-a-Grave page.
It was a very good portrait-type photo; except, like a lot of obituary photos that will be associated with people until doomsday, it was badly red-eyed.
I was going to go to the trouble of firing up Elements and doing my Red-Eye process; I am not at all thrilled with the as-delivered Red-Eye removal that is included in Elements, so I do my own much better thing.
Anywho, it dawned on me that FastStone has a Red-Eye tool that I had as yet not used; it is the next-to-the-bottom choice under the Edit tab.
A nice Red-Eye dialogue opened with a zoomable window; in my particular instance, I zoomed 300%.
The curser is a +/cross that you use to "drag" a round selection.
Start at the left-top, farther from the target than you would think, and drag right and down a selection circle over the pupil, stopping a bit farther than you would think.
If you are not satisfied with your selection, just click and drag again until it suits.
Click the button to apply and move to the other eye and repeat.
Since it looks so good, I just saved over the original and mission accomplished.
Since I am always ever already in FastStone, I accomplished this Red-Eye removal in far less time than it takes for Elements to fire up and come to life, and a very acceptable job indeed --- on my very first attempt.

Thanks Buckskin. I never knew red eye removal was available in Faststone! You learn something every day! I got fed up with Microsoft Photos regularly breaking and not being able to open jpg images, and made "FastStone" my default viewer. In "Settings" I changed Full screen to "Windowed View". I find it much more convenient. Kind regards Chris
