Have been using Elements 11 for over 10 years to print greeting cards - and using a Canon Pro9000 MkII to do the printing. Recently moved residences, and after reconnecting printer to computer, Elements 11 wont recognize my Canon printer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

using a Canon Pro9000 MkII to do the printing. after reconnecting printer to computer, Elements 11 wont recognize my Canon printer. Hi kraftb, welcome to PSE&M! Glad to have you here with us. - Are you on a PC or a Mac? - Do you get any error messages when you try to print from Elements? - Can you print from another app? If the problem is confined to Elements, I'm going out on a limb here and suggest you delete the Elements Preferences file. 1. Go to Edit>Preferences>General (Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor>Preferences> . . . on a Mac). 2. Click on the "Reset Preferences on next launch" button. 3. Ignore the "This cannot be undone." warning and click OK. 4. Close Elements and then start it again.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. I'm on a PC, and the error msg I get is as follows " Saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. You need to check your printer settings before printing ". Some background - we recently moved to a new residence, and after disconnecting my printer and computer, then hooking it back up once moved, is when this problem started. Not sure why, as I've been using this same setup for the past 10 or so years with no issues at all. I can print from Photoshop with no problems. I'll try your suggestion above and see if that works. Thank you.

In my version of Elements 11, I don't have the same screen as above - there is no button to "Reset Preferences on next launch" -??

kraftb, Elements has two Preferences files -- one for the Organizer and one for the Editor. It looks like you are in the Organizer. You need the Editor Preferences file.

Thanks very much for the info - followed your suggestion, and I'm back in business - things now seem to be working.
