I would like to set the default behavior of Elements (2022-24) to fit window to image in editor. I don't an option for this.

Welcome to the site. I have no idea what you are talking about. Is it possible to post a screen shot of the issue? Are you saying you have the issue in Elements 2022, 2023 and 2024?

Hello Brian and welcome to the forum. I am not exactly sure what you mean but whenever I open an image in PSE 2024 it automatically opens to fill the edit workspace. I believe this should be the default. I find it convenient under Edit/preferences/general to select, "zoom with scroll wheel". There is also an option under "View" to, "Fit on screen".
