I have scanned about 530 old slides for a friend as a favour. However the colours have faded and shifted. Normal colour correction tools have only partial success, because the emulsion has faded unevenly in the highlights and shadows. I would like to surprise my friend by returning some decent colour corrected images.
I tried PSE 2024 Edit/Colorize with the default first option. The results are quite acceptable. Now, the problem is how to colorize about 530 images as quickly as possible. I tried using Elements XXL and also Elements + to create and play an action. Sadly, the actions/Macros do not work for "Colorize" in PSE. What happens is that the image is automatically closed. Ideally, I would like to automate or semi-automate the process if that is possible. I know this can be done with Photoshop CC, but my options may be limited with PSE.
Your help and suggestions would be appreciated.
Kind regards Chris
PS: I have thought about online AI colourisation websites which are very good, but this is not an option due to the high cost or watermarks for the free option.

He is best qualified to elaborate on this.

Chris, It seems the "Colorize Photo" command is not recordable.
Perhaps some third party plugins might be recorded. However, those AI-based tools either work in the clouds or require quite powerful hardware.
