Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

"Any Port in The Storm". Shot this out of the passenger window today. And just for fun, one from my "cute files" that came to mind when I saw this theme.

Bus Stops are shelters......... One purely functional..... One whimsically decorated. The titles on the books are very clever...hope you can read them.

Much more entertaining than any I’ve seen before and the book titles and authors are clever too. Perfect for the theme. Tony

Woodpecker cavity. October 18, 2024. The initial excavation was likely made by a pileated woodpecker looking for grubs. Possibly a northern flicker deepened it for a nest or shelter or looking for insects. Two years go, I photographed a saw-whet owl in a cavity it the same tree. These cavities are good shelters and also used for nesting by saw-whets although we've never found a nest in the valley.

One more shelter - this was an active beaver lodge until a few years ago - the beavers are still around but for some reason decided to abandon this lodge and move on to another area (not as accessible as this one which is maybe why they decided to move house!) Tony

Thanks for the theme Sepiana! Bill, and thanks for raising the bar with this interpretation of Shelter! The kind of image that makes us stop and ponder.

"Any Port in The Storm". Shot this out of the passenger window today. Jim, this shelter seems to have seen better days. It could be "Shelter needs Shelter". Good finding!

Tony, two great interpretations of wildlife shelters. The 2nd image clearly shows all the work beavers do in building these elaborate lodges. Shelter taken to another level!
