I just copied my edited photos from old computer, but I can't open them in windows 10 because it doesn't give me the option to open with pse8? Tell me to look for another App.

Did you install PSE8 on the new Windows 10 computer?
If you did, when Windows tells you to find an application, you have to select Photoshop Elements.

And when you select that option, check mark "always open these kinds of files with" (paraphrasing here, I'm not at my pc)

It doesn't show up! I takes me to all the program files but Adobe photoshop elements 8 is not there? It keeps going to pse13 which is uninstalled because the trial kept giving me trouble.

I don't have Windows 10 but the way I understand is that the term "application" is the equivalent of "program" in previous versions of Windows. Someone, please, correct me if I am wrong.

Sepiana, you're quite right in that previous 'programs' are now referred to as 'Apps' in Windows 10
arabma, first off, I would suggest you open the start menu and click on All Apps. If PSE is installed, it/they should show up under the first section as Adobe Photoshop Elements v*
If not listed, check in Control Panel, Programs and Features (or Win 10 equivalent - am currently on PC running Win 7). Easy way to get to Control Panel is to Risght click on the Windows Start Menu flag, extreme left in Task bar.
Hope this helps you Julie

If PSE is installed, it/they should show up under the first section as Adobe Photoshop Elements v* I believe Elements is showing up in the Open With menu. Unfortunately, it is not Elements 8 but Elements 13. As a rule of thumb, if you have more than one version of Elements installed, the Open With menu will list only the latest version. For some reason, although arabma uninstalled the trial version of Elements 13, Open With is still listing it. I guess there are some residual files left behind and they are causing this problem. The solution is to manually guide Open With to Elements 8 per the instructions posted earlier in this thread.
