Hi, Have a new Dell XPS 8700 desktop and it runs windows 10 the problem is that I installed pse8 and it doesn't recognize it! I can use it but when save something it shows up as a blank white sheet of paper and I don't get the option to use pse8 to open anything it isn't in the list of options? I tried the trial for 14 and had so much trouble with it I uninstalled it from the computer. Is it 10 or me?

Hi arabma, Let's see what we can do. Have a new Dell XPS 8700 desktop and it runs windows 10 the problem is that I installed pse8 and it doesn't recognize it! I may be wrong but I don't think there is a problem here with PSE 8 and Windows 10. You said you are able to use this program; this means Windows 10 is "recognizing" it. (BTW, there have been reports of even earlier versions of Elements running just fine on this OS.) Has this been happening since you installed PSE 8? Or did it begin recently? Does this happen with any file format? Or just with a certain format?
I have seen this happen before. Sometimes this can just be solved by re-saving the problem file. Other times it is caused by a corrupted Preferences file; deleting this file will take care of the problem. Another possibility is the user account's permission level. I have seen many little "glitches" solved by just launching Elements as an administrator. (Right-click on the desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator".) You do this just once and, then, continue launching this program as a standard user.
Then, you need to add PSE 8 to this list. Just make sure you are pointing the "Open With" command to the Editor .exe file.

Adobe provides full support for the current version of Elements, including the trial version. I would suggest you contact them.

EDIT: If you need to delete the Preferences file I mentioned above, just do this.
Press Alt-Ctrl-Shift immediately after Elements starts launching. Click Yes to delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements settings file. NOTE: Elements has two separate Preferences file, one for the Organizer and one for the Editor. This procedure will affect only the Editor's Preferences file.
