Magic extrator replacement

Used this feature a lot (Windows version 10 and earlier) and it worked quite well for my needs. Quick and good results. I see that it is abandoned in recent versions. (purchased 12 for my laptop and disappointed it's missing).

Is there anything (hopefully simple process) to replace this in version 14?

The Magic Extractor was one of the several features removed in Elements 12. As an alternative, Adobe recommends the Quick Selection tool with Refine Edge.  Starting with Elements 11, Adobe introduced a new, updated Refine Edge feature brought over from Photoshop.

What features from previous versions are not available in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?
