COMPUTER MONITOR OR TV SCREEN

I want to buy a 23 inch monitor - hard to find.  It was suggested that I buy a television and use that.  How does the resolution compare; I do a lot of photoshop work to put in books.  
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm glad you decided on getting a monitor. A TV could work, but I find monitors - especially the newer ones - are much sharper than TV's.
