I'd like to crop a series of photographs to a 4:3 aspect ratio. Maybe I don't understand my options, but I don't see any way to tackle this in PE 10. The crop tool has several ratios as presets, but none are 4:3, and although there is a custom setting, when I select it, nothing happens that I can tell.

Try following the diagram below. After selecting the rectangular marquee tool, you need to set the mode to "fixed ratio", and then set the width to 4 and the height to 3.  |
