Not sure where this belongs.
I have photos on a flickr album that people say they can't see because they don't have a Yahoo account. I know I used Flickr several years ago without issue. Is Flickr now owned by Yahoo and you can't see it unless you have a Yahoo account? If I can open it up to the public how do I do this?

I am interested in the answer to this because I don't have Flickr/Yahoo account and was considering joining Flickr as they seem to provide so much free storage and I am looking for somewhere to store my images.
I set up a blog on WordPress, but haven't been very successful at "blogging".
I won't set up a Flickr Gallery if others without Yahoo can't see it. I ran into this problem with Dropbox. I recall one of our members at Elements Village saying that those people without Dropbox could not see the dropbox images.
...so if you can shed a light on this, it would be much appreciated.

I have just logged out of my Flickr account to see if I could still see photos posted to Flickr and I can, so it seems you do not need an account with either Flickr or Yahoo to see the photos. However, if the photo's privacy is set too high and not to public then those photos will not be visible. Hope this helps. |

I just checked my settings and everything seems OK. I only had one person mention the problem to me but I think most people have a Yahoo account. SRmoment, Would you please try my Flickr. When I click on your link it takes me to Flickr but not to your image, just to the Batch Organise page of my account!

I checked all my security settings and they are wide open. I guess Flickr is now a closed service. I'll go find another............

Judy, both your links worked perfectly. I was able to view your gallery (nice!). Sue, when I clicked on your link it took me to the Yahoo sign-up page again.............so you probably have to change a setting somewhere......

Sue, you actually are posting the organizer link - that is where you do your settings, descriptions etc. to your photos. It is only for you to do. That is why those with Flickr accounts are redirected to their own organizer pages. Those that don't have Flickr accounts are directed to sign in to Flickr.

It came up fine Sue - all the truck photos. Let's see if those without flickr accounts can see it also. Then we're in business. |
