I am not very well versed at all when it comes to PDF documents.
I thought that I had Adobe Reader or Acrobat or whatever; however, when I right-click the name of a PDF file, the only "open with" option is "PDF Complete"
When I web-search for information about how to accomplish various PDF tasks, everything I find is for Adobe and does not seem to work with PDF Complete.
I need to be able to highlight/select and print specific sentences in a PDF document and nothing so far I have tried has been successful.
I think maybe I can print the entire document, then scan the printed pages and save them in some other form, then go from there; but, that seems to be a more costly time consuming way to accomplish my task.
Could I accomplish this if I install Adobe ? (I am almost 100% certain that I already had Adobe already in this computer)
I am in need of help and suggestions please.
Thanks for reading.

I don't know if this will be what you are looking for but I use Sumatra PDF Reader which is free and a lightweight and fast reader. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Adobes Reader but I personally don't need all those. Using Sumatra I can highlight text, copy and paste it into another document and same with images. Maybe others will have other suggestions...

I believe you need Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (free). get.adobe.com/reader/
NOTE: Adobe includes two optional offers with this download. If you have no use for them, make sure to uncheck the boxes before proceeding with the download.

I have been looking at this: www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-non-adobe-pdf-reader.htmI am leaning toward the PDF/XChange Viewer for it's OCR capabilities. The Sumatra is discussed on that page as well. Does the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC also have OCR ability ? Thanks, Billie Jean and Sepiana, for your helpful response.

Well, I believe my situation is resolved. On research, I found that PDF Complete Special Edition was an expiring demo program that came installed in my desk-top when it was new some three years ago and had since expired; it would open and allow me to read PDFs, but none of the features and tools would do anything; so, I un-installed that useless program and got it gone. While I was in the control panel, i discovered another PDF-reading program that I did not know was even in there, Nuance something or other (I learned that that program came packaged with the drivers and such for our new Brother printer); research on it led me to believe that it was not very desirable,so I un-installed it as well. I then downloaded and installed PDF/XChange Editor, which has recently superceded PDF/XChange Viewer; both of which are available for FREE by navigating the link provided in my previous posting. With this new program addition, I was able to perform the necessary PDF task that had prompted all of this discussion in the first place. A lot of the time, it would help if I was not so dumb about such things. I appreciate everyone's help and support during this crisis; thanks so much.
