When making a Lasso tool selection I get: Warning:No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible. I'm making this selection on a Levels adjustment layer. What does this mean and how do I get around it?

I get that when
- I have feather set. Go to your tool options and see if feather is set at 0
or
- I'm on the wrong layer or a layer with alot of transparency.
However - You say you are on an adjustment layer. Adjustment layers are tricky for me. I guess I'd simplify or merge down to make the adjustment layer a regular layer.

A selection is made no matter which layer you make it on, so make it on a non-adjustment layer and the problem should go away.

I just tried adding an adjustment layer but making a selection on the background layer and got the same message. After I lowered the feathering far enough it went away.

Well, there you have it then.

Yes, that's right. Reducing the feather number will make this warning go away. This has nothing to do with the kind of layer you are working on; it is directly related to your selection. If you apply a feather value which is too high for the size of your selection, this warning will pop up.

I've read so many times with this issue, shame Adobe don't word its pop-up windows to be more user friendly, it's not unusual for me to use average of 10 plus layers on a basic image edit & times i get a pop-up & it might be something as simple as" i didn't deselect on the layer but the pop-up says ie no pixels selected.

Thanks for the info Sepiana, ive been working with layers for some years so im used to the odd pop-ups, Adobe must be fully aware of this as ive read most on Adobe's pse forum. Perhaps i should put in a mention as pse is to assist beginners with the pse Quick & Guided tour but then we get the Edit section & pop-ups just mean you've made an error.
