For the last little while I noticed that the photos I take from LR5 into PSE 13 seem very noisy. I have not changed any settings in either program, so not sure what is going on here.
The photo has had noise reduction applied in LR, I then take it into PSE 13 to do some further editing that I cannot do in LR, and when the photo opens in PSE it is noisy.
I have tried to look online, but have been unsuccessful in finding any reason why this may be happening. Anybody have any ideas?
Thank you!

Any chance it is defaulting to taking the original photo instead of the photo with the edits?

Oh, I hadn't thought of that, will have to see if I can easily find those settings in the preferences menu.
Thanks Andy.

Hmm, so, when I select a photo which has had adjustments applied in LR and take it to PSE13 I don't always get the pop up that asks if I want to edit a copy with the LR adjustments, edit a copy, or edit the original. So I wonder if that is the issue.
Any idea how I can ensure this pops up on all photos that have had LR adjustments applied?

I think you want to do this (I don't have LR on my laptop so I can't see for myself):
Go to Preferences > General tab > Prompts> Select "reset all warning dialogs",

Well, that didn't do it. Hmm, really mystified by this.

In case anybody ever has this issue as well, I managed to resolve it.
I ended up having to reset the preference files in both LR and PSE. Thankfully now my photos are no longer noisy when exported into PSE from LR (no idea why they were like that in the first place, but who knows what gremlins may have crept in!).

I'm glad you got it fixed Simone, and thanks for posting the solution back!
