Greetings! Great job on your first challenge here at Photoshop Elements & More! Because we are so very new, It probably isn't too much of a surprise that things are still "in process". Specifically, the start day for this challenge has changed so as not to conflict with other challenges. The EZ challenge will be continuing much as always, but with a new name: Endless Possibilities. It will be hosted by a rotating team, and begin each week on Wednesday. Let's see what you can come up with using this image as your inspiration! Color them, decorate them, hide them in the yard; I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with! (this image is a free photo from morgueFile)

I hope it is OK if I go first! I really like abstracts; for this one I applied the max then min filters, then one other (crosshatch?) before adding a frame from Jodi.

I used it an excuse to play around with Topaz Glow which I downloaded this morning and am trialing.

Very nice Marianne; the flames are an inspired touch!
Sydney, when I saw your image I just went "oooh, I like it!" The images using Topaz Glow I have seen struck me as uninteresting, not not yours. I will be interesting to hear/see what you think of it.

A combination of Filter Forge, Perfect Effects, and an action by Panos resulted in this.

A combination of Filter Forge, Perfect Effects, and an action by Panos resulted in this. Very interesting texture Sepiana! Which gave the cross-hatched grid effect? (a post about the actions by Panos goes somewhere here; there was recent discussion, but maybe that is still unsettled?).

Tom, thanks! The action is called Weave it! It is part of Panos' Old Goodies Collection.

Well, as I just started trialing Glow this morning the verdict is still out, but I must confess I have found it to be a bit underwhelming with what little I have done with it so far. Time will tell.

Tom, thanks! The action is called Weave it! It is part of Panos' Old Goodies Collection. Ugh, apparently it is only for photoshop; oh well! Weren't we talking about having a place for links to useful addons? Panos has several, so this would certainly be a great one to record somewhere...

This action will run in Elements 11 though 13. The only problem is that you won't get exactly the same results because there are some commands Elements won't understand.

That is a 'cracking' great image Sepiana! Thanks, Sydney! The cracking was done with Filter Forge.

Well, as I just started trialing Glow this morning the verdict is still out, but I must confess I have found it to be a bit underwhelming with what little I have done with it so far. Time will tell. I found it a bit challenging at first also; but I kept playing a round with the sliders etc. and watching the online videos. Sometimes it depends on your photo. But what I do like is after processing, I will go into Glow, pick a setting I like but then go down to the bottom left and lower the strength and find a blend mode I like. Sometimes that's all you need.
