I have no experience in judging photographs. What follows are purely personal choices, based on what attracted me to each image. It wasn’t easy, as there were so many great images posted this week—thanks to everyone for sharing your work! Honourable mentions—in no particular order:
Dandc: “Peaceful” I was attracted by the striations in the clouds and the lines of the branches in the trees. For me, the image conveys the beauty of a cold, crisp day. lh4.googleusercontent.com/-EFzdNLKYzbg/WGg4kPXbI5I/AAAAAAAAbzM/o-Rc6ppMyFEqtPkjKI-RSj525PCGRJSngCL0B/w1089-h817-no/P1300933a-HDRpe9shrp.jpgFotofrank: “Gazebo” Mother nature’s snowy decoration adds an air of whimsy to the gazebo, and I liked this sky too. preview.ibb.co/djKqtv/gazebo.jpgSepiana: “Looking Through” This image conveys such a peaceful atmosphere, and I admired the muted colours. The glimpse of what’s beyond the archway is an invitation to go through and explore. preview.ibb.co/iJCABF/Looking_Through.jpgAnd now for the choice of Image of the Week.
Kathylee “Are you an Iowa Fan?” This lively image could certainly persuade me. First of all, I liked the angle of the shot, showing the precision of the marchers; then the reflections & the lights caught in the brass; best of all, the eye contact with one of the musicians—all of it pulls me in. c5.staticflickr.com/1/606/31880749652_f8f278b522_o.jpgWell done, everyone! agg

Frank You coulda fooled me, and you did! I have no experience whatever with infrared and assumed it was snow. It must have made a lovely card. agg
