Hope you don't mind me posting slightly early but its a cold, wet and dreary Sunday afternoon here so what better way to cheer myself up than considering the lovely images on show.
Another high quality week showcasing the great talent in the forum meant some difficult choices but my honourable mentions, in no particular order, go to:
The Fiddler by Sydney.
Really subtle use of popping, I love how both the mono background and coloured subject have been treated to create an artistic and coordinated whole; the fiddler stands out from the background but he doesn't dominate. And a background which might otherwise seem cluttered actually enhances the image with the onlooker's reaction.
Upwards by Sepiana.
This subject matter is right up my street. Architectural. monumental and graphic. Symmetrical but with texture and interest created by the shadows. Beautifully positioned in the frame and against a lovely sky.

What a beautiful image. Firstly, the subject matter - perfectly caught in time with the mother seemingly guiding the youngster. Secondly the quality of the image - what exceptional detail you have captured and brought out in the feathers. And finally the light - beautiful golden rays caught in the water. This would have been my banker for IOW, if only you hadn't just clipped her tail. If only, if only...

But my Image Of the Week this time around goes to:
Sunrise on the Bay by dandc
What a stunning image of an iconic structure, that could so easily have been 'yet another image' but you have made it interesting. Beautiful graduation of colour and light across the scene, great composition allowing each element (the bridge, the island, the reflection) room to breathe and gorgeous texture in the water. Yummy.
