Image of the Week October 23 - 29, 2017

Hard to believe it's already the last week in October!   Here's what caught my eye this past week.


I find this simple composition by Fauxtoto especially appealing.  While Fall images often feature trees crowned in color, I like that the photographer featured this little sapling nestled in the hollow of the tree.

I have been enjoying deany flower creations for years.   Recently he has branched out and has created some painterly still life images.  The placement of the bottle in the right corner and the blocks of color and texture in the background made this one stand out for me.

The Bronze Mum



dandc has created an image fit for the cover of an Autumn magazine.  The scattering of pumpkins in the straw beneath the tree is delightfully composed.

My choice for this week's IOW title goes to Sydney for Spring Blossoms!  There is a simple elegance in this close-up of the flower and the purple/green combo is lovely.

Thanks so much Helen for including my photo among your picks this week! Congratulations everyone on your wonderful images/creations. Sydney your IOW causes me to pause everytime I see it . . . I've tried to photograph Lily of the Nile numerous times without ever capturing anything close to the beauty yours displays.
