I have added 'photoshopelementsandmore' to the exclusion page so that it doesn't think it's not secure.
Also, I am having problems viewing some images in the galleries and threads, with the broken image icon showing up all the time. Does anyone have any of the same problems and did you manage to fix it. I don't get the 'connection issue' with Chrome, but there are still some images that won't appear there too. I read previous threads about deleting the cookies and caches etc and have done that to the best of my knowledge.

I don't use Firefox but do seem to remember this issue coming up before. Perhaps someone else will address this for you.
Can you share which images aren't showing for you, Jackie?
I have just checked Billie Jean's popular Etching Thread and I can see everyone's pictures.
I can also see the gallery images, but interestingly they only go back two pages. I know we have been able to view more in the past.

Hi Helen, sometimes it varies, eg I can see Simone's latest pic in the gallery, but I can't see Sepiana's 'old and rusty' or 'raiders of the birdfeeder'. I have been grappling with this issue over a few days now, and it is sometimes a bit hit and miss, as I did see 'old and rusty' earlier today, it loaded fine, but not the next image. On other threads such as the copper etching technique, none of billiejean's images in the opening thread are visible, only the broken picture icon. I may have to be taken off the IOW judging if I can't sort it out in time (rostered on mid jan).

However, I noticed that the images you cannot see (mine and BillieJean's) have been uploaded via imgbb. On the other hand, Simone's image (which you can see) has been uploaded via Flickr.

The Firefox issue has been reported by others but it is not consistent enough to do real troubleshooting on. I would first try clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your cookies.

Hi Sepiana, it looks like imgbb might be part of the problem, but sometimes if I click on the broken icon it will take me to the imgbb page and for one brief nanosecond I sometimes get a glimpse of the image and then nothing! It's very frustrating. I am having this problem on both firefox and Google Chrome. Another example is Whippets Christmas thread, again it's a broken icon, but if I right click and choose 'open image in new tab' then I can see her beautiful greyhound looking longingly at the Christmas tree.

Thankyou Helen, Sepiana, Andy and Bailey for all your suggestions. It seems that the problem was at my end with our internet modem, and once I reset it, things have returned to normal and I am now able to see everyone's images once more. Who knows why these things happen, but I am soooooo relieved to have it all back to normal. In the course of my fiddling I did come across a free trial version of Avast on my PC, which I'm pretty sure I didn't download, other than that and learning how to clean out cookies and caches, I really appreciated the help. I'm back using Firefox for this post, and it didn't come up with the warning about not being a secure website, so far so good. Jacki.

You have to untick the box if you don't want it. I really hate how software companies try to offload other stuff in this way and it's so easy to miss these check boxes. Avast is very good at this. When I used to use it I had to watch all the time but even then I got landed with the Google Chrome browser which I didn't want because I missed that check box.

I only ever use Firefox, and never had any problems.
That must be what happened to me, BJ. Chrome put itself on as my browser, and I couldn't work out how it got there. I use CCleaner too, so that was probably how Chrome got on.

whippet I know that CCleaner now offers a trial version of Avast but I can't say for sure it also offers Chrome. However Avast certainly does and that's how I got landed with Chrome. I know I could uninstall it but I shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place and these things always leave bits and pieces strewn around in areas of my PC that I don't like to venture into too often.

Thankyou Sepiana, that link explains a lot, as i had only just recently updated and ran CCleaner, which now turns out to be Avast! I already had Google Chrome running as well as Firefox, just use different browsers for different sites.

Thanks from me, too. I was the same as the author of that topic. My download came from FileHippo, too.
