ATTENTION!!!
There is no longer a "next Sunday" posting deadline. You can grab your camera, take your photo, and post it in this thread any time you wish to.
Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.
NOTE
I am assigning no theme this week. It is your turn! Pick a theme which appeals to you, grab your camera, and capture something which will be an interpretation of the theme you chose. Also, let us know what your theme is and how your image relates to it. Have fun!

'll go with the theme "winter" as we've just been having lots of it. Lots of snow and very cold so not too many photos taken outside but here are a couple. First is Marcus who just loves being out in the snow and cold doesn't bother him. And then there's the unknown animal who had wandered off onto the frozen lake and created these tracks which I had to take a shot of (using a phone as I hadn't bothered to take the camera with me on the walk) Today it warmed up, most of the snow has gone but winter will be back at the weekend! Beautiful shots Tony. Winter's mood swings have been on full display ... hang on for the next blast. I'm going with Birds for my theme. Here are some of Portland's downtown crows. I know they're messy, and noisy and a nuisance, but I love seeing them gather at daybreak and hearing the raucous cawing before they head off to do crow things for the day.

Tony, great interpretation of Name Your Theme. Very timely! Winter is here indeed.
First shot -- Adorable Marcus! Great job capturing his "happiness". You can see it on his face. Beautiful portrait of a beautiful dog!
Second shot -- I love an image which makes one go back and look at it again and again. This one has an abstract feeling to it and the animal tracks add an aura of mystery. Great composition!
Down in my neck of the woods it was springtime yesterday -- temperature in the 60s, windows open, furnace off. Then, overnight winter came along -- weather advisory alerts (sleet, freezing rain, ice, snow, etc., etc.)

Great composition -- with the birds in silhouette and the inclusion of the building! It highlights the meeting (clash?) of nature and man, one which, based on your explanation, can be unpleasant.
I am with you. I love seeing those pesky little critters all getting together to announce the beginning of another day with their "singing".

My theme is "P" - for proverb - namely, "Where there's muck there's brass." And "P" for Play on words - in this case both clever and amusing. Saw this strange emporium of oddities just outside that most middle-class of country towns, Tunbridge Wells.
Brenda
Brenda, you never cease to surprise me. What a finding for the theme you chose! The play on words is priceless!
Great shots, both of them -- well composed, crisp details. If I had to pick one, I would go for the second one. Beautiful composition with the S-line of the muddy track drawing our eyes into the image. It invites us to follow along to see the rest of the "oddities".

A quick stop along the shore last night where the misty weather gave everything a somewhat mysterious look. I'll go with "Weather". Helen, you captured Weather at its best. Beautiful (and mysterious) shot! It looks so film noir!

Helen - What a beautiful shot. I really like the black and white effect which adds mystery to the scene.

The theme is Fishing. This heron was fishing along the shore and spied a fishing bobber left by a fisherman. kdcintx, the eyes of a photographer! I love how you composed your shot -- the heron coming from the side of the frame into the center. One can just feel his anticipation. This is definitely not a run-of-the-mill fishing moment!

Wow Helen, that is one amazing shot. I have tried to capture an image like that on a number of occasions, but have never had any luck with how it turned out. You should enter it into some serious photo comps. Could I ask what camera and settings you used to capture this image? Did you use a tripod? I would bet a lot of galleries would be pleased to display that photo on their walls.

Thank you, Sydney. Sometimes you just get lucky. I took this with my Sony a6000 and a 35 mm lens on superior auto mode which is supposed to reduce noise in camera. ISO was 3200 f 2, 1/100. The man in the trench coat was a gift. So as you can see luck all around.
