In honor of the Olympics, I have awarded three images Olympic medals: The IOW Bronze medal goes to " Crypt of Basilica de Santa Trinita, Florence" by Alexr. I love the curves, rich golden tones, and lighting offset by mysterious shadows. The IOW Silver medal goes to " Indian Ocean Sunset" by Fotofrank. This is a wonderful silhouette in "standing motion" (yep that's an oxymoron!!!) against a vibrant sunset.
The IOW GOLD medal goes to "black-necked stilt" by dandc. I guess you know that I love animals and this shot of the stilt has lovely color, lighting and the reeds/reflection complement the stiltyness of the bird (ahaha...is that even a word???).
There were other contenders this week that just missed the podium, so keep up the good works IOW community!!!

I like the Olympics touch on the IOW this week! Very nice srmoment! All those images have me wishing I was somewhere other than the cold Northeast US. Congrats to dandc, fotofrank and alexr! |

Beautifully presented, Pat! I agree with Andy about the Olympic theme. Congratulations to Alex (loved your street scene as well), and Frank. Special congratulations to Dan for taking home the "Gold" in this event!

Wow - I always thought winning a Gold medal would involve too much physical exertion so I never even tried ;^) Thanks so much for the IOW honor Pat, and an Honor it is with all the beautiful photos submitted to the gallery this week. Congratulations to fotofrank and alexr for their medal winners as well!
