I start with a file in the overall catalog, where it is not yet copied over into an album. Usually, I can drag and drop with no problem. But occasionally, as I began the drag, I get the beginnings of a rectangular box and can't copy it over to the new album. I've tried to see under what circumstances this happens but I can't find anything unusual in my setup.
I hope I've explained it clearly... let me know if I can phrase the problem better. Thank you!

Yes, sometimes the drag and drop from selected pictures to an album is not easy. In that case, I do use the reverse action: I drag and drop the album to the selected pictures.

Well now, that's something I never would have thought of... thanks, Michel! I'll try that next time my drag and drop misbehaves.

Just so I can have another trick up my sleeve... is there another way to designate the album you wish it go to? No slur intended for your technique, Michel! I'm just curious...

I am pretty sure there is no other way than drag and drop. The right click contextual menu allows removing files from albums. Not your question, but you can create an 'instant' album from the files in a subfolder.

Thanks again, Michel. Well, I'm fine with your original method, in fact I tried it out and it worked beautifully. I never would have thought of that. Best regards!
