I have made an Acronis backup of my C: drive yesterday evening. Michelb ---- Doing the Acronis backup was a smart move, I have used it personally for creating a backup disk image.
Michel and swilliams,
This has been an interesting week as to learning about new software. Living and learning! I went ahead and downloaded the trial version of Acronis. From what I have seen so far, I am really considering purchasing it. How can I go wrong following such expert advice? Thanks a lot!

All I can say is that it's save my backside in the past. And about every 6 months or so, I backup the data on my PC, roll it back to the last saved backup, update the OS and apps, make a new backup, then restore my data. I recommend keeping saved data separate from the Acronis/OS backup, but that's your call.

Thanks for coming back here and posting some more expert advice! I hadn't thought about a backup schedule; I really like your idea of doing it about every 6 months. I will make sure to keep my saved data separate from the backup.
