First let me say Thanks to all who submitted, it made my task of selecting difficult. Now for the Honorable Mentions (In no particular order): Light and Shadow – christell – This is a great backlit capture under difficult lighting conditions. Textured Rose 2 – hmca – Excellent treatment of this Iris with a complimentary texture and toning. The lighting on the image is handled very well. The Malecón, Havana – simone – Great contrast between the sky and the vivid colors of the buildings along with the action of the waves crashing in. And the Image Of the Week goes to Tough Going – srmoment - this is an excellent macro image of an ant. The ant really stands out against all of the grass that it has a tough going thru. Congratulations to all the Winners!

You may notice that IOW has a new judge! Frank has experience judging camera club competitions in Connecticut. We are so happy to have him join our team of judges
Pat, that is one amazing macro! Christell, I always enjoy seeing your creativity at work. Simone, the pictures that you have shared so far from your trip are wonderful. Thanks for choosing my flower as well, Frank.

Great selection,Frank, very varied styles and subjects. Congratulations to all of those highlighted, but particularly to srmoment for the ant's eye view of a journey.

Congratulations to you all. I read somewhere recently, that even though shooting into the sun was supposed to be avoided, that actually some amazing results can be gained.. . . . as Christell has proved here.

Whoa, I almost fell off my chair just now....this was such a surprise! This pic was taken when I was lying on my tummy with grass up my nose and this little ant wandered into the frame.
Simone, Helen and Christell - those are wonderful images full of texture, light and color.
and welcome aboard as a judge FotoFrank!
