Interesting challenge Frank. I hope I have stayed within the bounds of the rules as listed above. So here is what I did I applied a levels adjustment to create more contrast on the photo. Duplicated the photo and then went to Filter>Artistic>Poster Edges and played with the sliders to get something I liked. Duplicated that layer and applied the screen blend mode. Applied the Poster Edge effect twice more. Merged the two copy layers. Applied the cut out filter from the Filter Gallery > Artistic>Cut Out > again played with the slider till I got something I liked. Applied a gradient adjustment layer with a blend mode of Colour Burn.

My attempt: 1. Camera RAW filter.....adjusted to taste. Straightened and scaled so as to bring edge of track to bottom corner 2. Opened image, duplicated. 3. Opened duplicate in NIK Silver Efex.......used high structure filter 4. Changed blend mode of BW layer to overlay.....50% Added layer mask and filled with black. Used white brush to just apply to trolley 5. Inverted mask to select surrounding area on layer below. 6. Added a Hue Sat. Layer clipped to this layer. Reduced saturation and lightened area around trolley. 7. Added Gaussian blur of 3.4 to desaturated layer. 8. Added a vignette. 9. After adding it to this post it looked too dull. Dup. layer and used screen blend mode at 20%.

Had to have another go at this challenge. Straightened the image and applied a Colour Sketch effect as per a tutorial by Steve Patterson of photoshopessentials.com which can be found HereIf you go straight to the second page of this tutorial you can get a condensed version of this tut which is what I used.

Well I'm not sure if this is following the rules but I do like to play around in different software so this is a combination of some initial tone adjustments in Lightroom - opened in Photoshop, a slightly modified Topaz Impression Photo Painting filter applied to a duplicated layer, Lighter Color blend mode. Merged layer given an Urban preset treatment in ON1, cropped and vignetted. Tony

All my editing was done in LR CC. - straightened the photo - converted to B&W and played around with the Tone Curve tool - applied some split toning in the shadows area - added a vignette Thanks for the challenge Frank!

Cropped some off bottom; cloned out the overhead lamp; faux HDR via clarity slider in ACR (2X); converted to B&W (new adj layer, gradient map); faux HDR again (same process..lightly). Somewhere along the way the rectangular marquee tool was used to isolate the four edges part way in; feathered; inversed and darkened a titch. That's about it.
