ATTENTION!!!
There is no longer a "next Sunday" posting deadline. You can grab your camera, take your photo, and post it in this thread any time you wish to.
Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

Plenty of snow geese. November 12, 2018 south of Taber, Alberta. A bit hard to describe other than there were (are) a lot of them. Perhaps 30,000 in this field today. Noisy! Fun to see.

Wow Clive, that is so crazy - I wonder if there were any mid air collisions?

Yes, crazy and crazy fun to watch. I've heard geese wings hit in mid air. This mass is probably 100 to 200 m deep so it looks denser than reality. Our weather has been good (after some recents snow) and the snow geese are feeding in fields all over and not concentrated on one particular lake or in one specific area. Might not happen this year. We need bad weather to the north to force them south to one specific lake (Tyrrell) that is slightly saline and does not normally freeze as fast as other lakes. If the stars and planets line up properly there could be 80,000 or more on Tyrrell...which I thought would be this week. Nope. Or they will simply pack up en masse and fly a long way south for a few months. Clive

People say that if there are plenty of berries in autumn, it will be a hard winter. Plenty of leaves on the ground after a few days of wind and rain.

Well I thought I had plenty of crows ... but after all these snow geese and leaves, the tree doesn't look all that full. I'll keep looking!
Thanks Sepiana!!

Billz - It will be hard to beat 30,000 snow geese. You have a nice image anyway. Awesome shot Clive. Thanks for sharing this amazing sight.

Bill, I agree with kdcintx. Your "crows" photo is good. Moody or mystical in an "Poe" sort of way. Good book cover. Clive PS: Thanks kdcintx

Helen...the conversion to BW is perfect. Nice subject...pleasing composition and tones. Bailey....I love open spaces and wide views. Nice shot. (Montana is just below us. Their state saying is "Big sky country." Wish we had thought of it first! 😊) Clive

Plenty of Sugar - or at least on the way to becoming sugar. We've had the first frost and now the first snow so it's sugar beet harvesting time. A highly mechanical operation these days with big machines that dig the beets and piles them up at the road side where they are ready for loading into trucks and delivery to the sugar refinery over the border in Michigan. Dennis, two great shots on more than one count -- composition, DOF, light. Another job well done!
