blackmutt, thanks for this tutorial, I like it very much. I too find all painting difficult and this was my fifth try.

Tom, your portrait of Mrs. Ginsburg is my favorite.

Thank you Helen. I found that the while the steps to get to the basic B&W rendering were quick and easy, the subsequent steps of hand drawing/erasing are where the secret sauce is. It took some time, but it was well spent I think! I am quite happy with the results overall. You should be, Tom. Your sketch is terrific! I mostly skipped the extra steps but your results make me want to go back and try this again sometime.

Thanks Judy. Who figures out this stuff? Amazing. Got through it with only a couple of glitches I was able to work around. Not "sketchy" enough, but it's okay in my eye. Might try that again. Clive

Lillias, this last one is about as perfect as I can imagine. Love the treatment of the hair.

Thank you so much Rita. It's the old story...some images work better than others for this technique, or that's been my experience anyway.

Thanks all for playing - amazing work! Agreed, some photos work better than others. I will try another one after the holidays.

I love her eyes. And the hint of pink on the lips, is a brilliant touch.

Thank you, Whippet and Lillias. This time I picked the right type of photo to start with, it does make all the difference.
