Thanks for the fun challenge. My fallback has always been to use a blur rather than the minimum filter, but this is a pretty good way to achieve the effect!

Pete's sketch of the lady with the cell phone and eating lunch reminded me of some photos I took in Arizona in 2011. Thanks Pete! Confession. I did not like the way the sunglass reflection turned out, so I went to the color original and captured the lenses and dropped them into the sketch after removing the color and lightening a titch..so this is a hybrid image. Also, the levels in the color inset shown here were adjusted in ACR prior to running the sketch routine.
