How does organizer work when images are stored on (say) ten different external hard drives? Curious. Thanks, Clive The organizer will soon be twenty years old... By that time, people used CDs to store their libraries and backups... So, the organizer, like Lightroom, has always stored the location of the files by two separate informations: the drive identification - the location in the folder tree. No issue whatever if you have ten or fifty external media, drives, USB sticks, CD, DVDs...
This appears clearly when you use the left folders tree in 'tree' mode. It looks exactly like the folder tree in the explorer.
What is not obvious is how you restore a backup. When you specify a given destination folder on a given drive, if you have ten different drives in the backup, the restore creates subfolders for each separate drive just under the chosen destination drive. (This is a way to consolidate the backup on a single drive).
If that does not answer your question, please ask.
