Thank you hmca for running and hosting Members Choice once again. Again, it was extremely difficult to narrow it down to just 3 choices for comment, but these are my 3 picks in in alphabetical order of the image creator."sunset in the swamp by deany"I very much like the composition of the scene and the strong earthy colours during the sunset "Queen Amidala blowing bubbles by PeteB"The subject and colours are both very strong and very attractive to the eye, well mine at least. I'm not sure what effect(s) was applied to the image but for me it certainly accentuates the colours and the scene itself. "spring cleaning by srmoment"Well what can I say......but another brilliant image from srmoment. The serene scene, colours and blending all blend together brilliantly into an image creating a calming feeling in at least this viewer. I could just stare at this image for hours.

A difficult task to choose just 3…however in no particular order here are my 3…
Yellow by blackmutt – I love the yellow tulips and the old bucket. The blending of the texture applied to this photo gives it a lovely grungy rustic feel to me.
Red-winged blackbird on post by Clive – Where I live we don’t have many if any such colourful birds and this one is a beauty. You are so lucky to live in an area which affords you so many opportunities to photograph such birds.
Live Minnows by Helen – I bet that old barn could tell a story or two. It stirs the imagination or it does mine anyway.

Queen Amidala blowing bubbles, by PeterB – A powerful image. In one shot PeterB photographed time, the impenetrable spirit of the mind and mystery.
Tulips, by Blackmutt – The simplicity and symbolic value of the elements, the composition, the colours, the texture and the light all fit so well together. Blackmutt pays a respectful tribute to a person; the viewer wishes it would have been possible to meet that person.
Panorama 2, by Bailey - The precison in the colours and details, as well as the meticulous attention to the framing and the angle of view render perfectly the originality and beauty of the design behind the site and its unique character. A very well thought and executed panorama.

It's never easy trying to narrow down the choices to three images. Often, as is the case with these three, I fall back on images that I would have trouble creating. So here are my choices in the order they are presented. i.ibb.co/k5NLwPz/tulips.jpgWhenever I have tried creating a still-life image it has been a frustrating experience. I find myself dragging out different elements trying to come up with a pleasing arrangement....and at the end having to put all of the stuff away again....ugh! I am much happier coming upon a scene that captures my attention than trying to create one! In Judy's image I especially notice the base that works so well with the background texture and contrasts nicely with the carefully arranged tulips. The old picture and beads suggest a meaningful connection with the photographer. 2812blog.files.wordpress.com/2019/05/efm_4034.jpgBeing able to capture "the decisive moment" is a goal of street photographers. Pete does this on a regular basis and employs a unique style that makes his work readily identifiable. The eyes, the lips, the bubbles....and in the blink of an eye that perfect moment is gone. i.ibb.co/hCKqPyb/RWBB-CAS01035.jpgI am not a bird photographer. I don't have the patience or the equipment to capture an image like Clive's. So when I see a bird perfectly positioned in a frame with the creamiest, beautifully toned background, it makes me stop and admire it's simplicity all the while knowing it was not a simple picture to take. I also like the simple matte that Clive often uses when presenting his work.....just that little extra finishing touch that suggests it's gallery ready.

Queen Amidala blowing bubbles by PeteB I really like how the subject remains sharp but for everything else the number of levels were reduced and blurred but still identifiable. The accordion player is a nice counter-point to the subject, adding an additional dynamic aspect to the scene.
spring cleaning by srmoment I agree with Baily on this one, brilliant. The composition is seamless and the lighting delicate any unifying.
Panorama 2 by Bailey I am quite partial to panoramas anyway, but this one is special. The eye sweeps left and right, aided by the friction-less watery foreground, but drawn always to the red ornaments. As is true for much of Asian art, the humans are in proper proportion to the larger context: present but small.

I know I'm late, but here are my thoughts:
Panorama 2 by Bailey: This is a serene scene with lovely colors, reflections and interesting details upon closer examination. Tulips by Blackmutt: I was attracted to the lovely colors and textures in these images. Red-Winged Blackbird by Clive: Another bird beauty with great details, color and apparently bird-song. Capturing birds with mainly midnight-black coloring in their plumage is very difficult, so great job!

In no particular order:
Tulips by blackmutt - I like the warm colors, the light angle on the tulips, and the texture. Queen Amidala blowing bubbles by PeteB - I like the vibrant colors and the crisp, detailed queen with the simplified background. Live Minnows by hmca - I like the whole barn in the photo at eye level but shot at an angle, not straight on. The overall muted color adds intrigue.

In list order, my favourites are - Tulips by Blackmutt. I always love the effects which Blackmutt creates with her images.
Squires Castle by Kathylee. So peaceful and serene.
Red-winged blackbird on post by pontiac1940 In my opinion, Clive's wildlife pictures are always fantastic.
