IOW July 22 to 28 Thanks to all who submitted. After great deliberation, I have decided on three honorable mentions that are in no particular order: PeteB's Hot, Humid and a Misting Fan Nice human interest shot. Good expressions and lighting. dandc's The Bend I tried not to let my love of trout streams influence my choices. Pleasing composition, colors and great sky. blackmutt's ferris wheel Nice treatment with good composition (ground eye view) Drum roll .. IOW

Great colors, light and action...fun photo.

Thanks for judging, Clive! It may have been a slow week but you've highlighted some great images.
Congratulations Pete, Dan and Judy. Pat, captured at just the right moment! Curious as to how many shots it took to get this perfect arc?

... Curious as to how many shots it took to get this perfect arc? I suspect burst mode with a fast shutter speed was used. It'l be interesting to see what other technique might have been used. It certainly would have been in my top 3 had this been a Members Choice week.

Bailey....even using burst mode capturing the precise moment where everything "comes together" often requires many attempts. I know this well from taking my granddaughter's gymnastics pictures. Now back to IOW comments : )

Great choices for the IOW. Congratulations everyone. I could picture myself as one of those children enjoying the Misting Fan. What great fun it looks. The IOW winner is such a great action shot congratulations srmoment.

Four fantastic pictures.
Congratulations to all.
I could just picture myself sitting on the bank of dandc's river. So peaceful and serene.

Yes, Clive, ground eye view as I waited in line. Cost a whole 75 cents to ride! Thank you for including this in your choices this week! Nice photos one and all, the theme looks like summer in the photos you highlighted!

Helen, I have a Procap setting on my camera which takes 25 frames at once (ahaha....in fact, I just discovered it!!!). I got the arc from the middle of one of the bursts. I also used an ISO of 1000 and a speed of 1000. Surprisingly, though this was not my telephoto lens, but my 12-40 mm lens used with a built in digital teleconverter of 1.5%. I use this last setting a lot with my wildlife/bird captures. I took this while we had a family gathering celebrating my dad's 90th birthday. I presented him with the layflat photobook I did up with the helpful suggestions from this great group!
There have been some wonderful images in the gallery lately! Congrats to all who have submitted. I suspect Clive had a difficult job in choosing.
