WHEN I OPEN MY FILES TO SEE MY PICS ,aLL i GET IS THUMBNAILS CONSISTING OF LETTERS can ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO SORT THIS OUT WINDOWS 7 ELEMENTS 9 THANKS

Can you do a screen shot of what's happening and post an image? You will have to use a image hosting site, but most here is imgbb...free and retains image quality.
Is this a new event? What camera?

Hi colinmk1 , welcome to PSE&M! I am going out on a limb here . . . Based on your description of the problem, it looks like you are seeing generic thumbnails. Preview thumbnails are not being generated for either PSD or RAW files. If this is what is happening, the reason is that Windows cannot generate such preview thumbnails. You need to install a Codec. Would you please give us more information? Your answers will determine the course of the troubleshooting. - Is this happening when you look at an image in Windows Explorer, for example, in the Pictures library? - Were you able to see preview thumbnails before? - Did you get another computer? - If you got another computer, did you install a Codec? |
