Got my new desk top pc yesterday. At the moment, I am having difficulty trying to find things. I don't know where the snipping tool is, so can't post a picture. My problem is that I can't find out how to adjust the size of the screen. At the moment I have one inch width (all black) running completely down the right hand side of my monitor. I can't stretch the screen, as the curser will not change to the double ended arrow to do that. There is a desktop icon for microsoft edge. What is that, please?

It's been renamed > Snip & Sketch Right click on blank (not black) spot of your screen and choose Display Settings
An Internet Browser - you'll need to use that in order to download your choice of alternate browsers

I had already been through the 'display settings', Peter. Then I did a 'Help'. That gave me the forum, where somebody had asked the same question - about three years ago. But he had something to do with - remote. Apparently the answer didn't help him, either. I had been through the display settings earlier. Still no joy after trying again.
Thanks, I did find the Snip & Sketch. But when I did a snip, the black at the side didn't show up. Re the internet browser, There was already a shortcut for Firefox there.
I had Firefox for years. I am not going to get rid of the icon - just in case!!!
Thank you again. I will most probably be having to bother you again.

The wording can be a bit confusing ... you don't want to change the size but rather use the native display resolution. On my system 1920 x 1080 is chosen be default
I suggest that you fix the screen resolution first ... the black bars aren't part of the screen for applications.
Many folks seem to like Edge; if you decide to use FF or Chrome just remember to change the default web browser.
Good Luck

This is what is showing, Peter. I read somewhere, that if it is changed, it can be difficult to get back to that. So I didn't dare try altering it.

Cancel that last post, Peter. I have changed the display resolution. And it worked.
Thank you so much. That is one less headache I have now.
Another thing. When I have finished on here, or any site - how on earth do I get back to my Home page? There used to be a little house icon. At the moment, I am having to use the Close button, then start from scratch again.

For Microsoft Edge – look to the top right of your screen and you will see 3 little dots click on that and choose settings from the drop down menu. Then in the settings panel scroll down and you will see 'Show the home button'…click on it to turn it on.

I am on Google Chrome, Lillias. There are 3 dots, - Customise & control Google Chrome. No mention of Home in there.
