The much maligned and neglected Dandelion, one of our most beautiful flowers, whose only crime is to grow in all the wrong places. i.ibb.co/bXjqCHk/DL.jpgDennis

A walk in the woods today and good to see the trilliums out in flower - the provincial flower of Ontario. Tony

Love this theme, Sepiana. Look forward to seeing lots of beautiful flowers..... A few of my Mother's Day flowers Helen, beautifully composed still life. These Mother’s Day flowers came in handy for this theme.

Here is my clematis, now in full bloom, Helen. The perfume is fantastic. And my laburnum tree. whippet, you shot the clematis and the laburnum tree at the right time. They are both blooming. Great job!

Seems like since our wings got clipped a couple months ago (can it be?) that all I've been shooting is flowers in the neighborhood, so I had to smile when I saw the theme. Desperate for a different take, this shot of some leggy California Poppies was taken as they were opening this morning. I used a f/2.2 aperture looking straight down, hoping that only the blossoms would be in focus. I probably could have gone to f/2.5. I'll try to post a more traditional shot as the week goes on. Thanks for the theme Sepiana. Bill, your desperate take paid off; you ended up with a very interesting image. The California Poppies seem to be popping up/out towards the viewer. Very clever! Beautiful shot! I really like your composition technique -- the flowers coming from the corner of the frame in a diagonal direction.

Sitting in my front patio ... Pete, the bold colors of the flowers stand out against the greenery in the background. Very nice!

Frank, great finding! This flower looks so delicate! I really like how you captured its details and . . . nailed the DOF.

A lovely surprise to see these Foxgloves blooming in a suburban front garden. At this time of year they are usually appearing in the countryside, which is forbidden to us at the moment. Brenda Brenda, a lovely surprise for me as well. I haven’t see any Foxgloves around here. I really like how you captured "suburban" glimpses in your shot (wall, window, flower bed edges); they make a nice contrast to these eye-catching flowers. Well done!

Excellent subject - unfortunately the polar vortex finished off the magnolia last night but the amelanchier blooms survived. Promising weather for the next few days so hopefully will find more subjects. Tony Tony, I'm so glad these blooms survived for you to capture them. Your capture did justice to their beauty. Great shot!

As you can see we are well behind other areas. Just coming around now. Clive, lucky you! These flowers are coming around just in time for this challenge. Nice, colorful collage!

Jacki, nice combo of flowers! Good cropping choice -- square, a nice contrast with the curvy lines of the flowers.

I don't often see Fuchsia, so I had to snag a shot of this one. Bill, glad you did. Fuchsias are one of my favorite flowers but I won’t see them until summer. Great DOF, placing the spotlight on this beauty!
