Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. - Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun. NOTE
This week's theme was suggested by tonyw . (Thanks, Tony!)

Good timing Sepiana and tonyw because it got me out to the cemetery to plan my Memorial Day shoot next week. Here's one as a tribute to those lost in the Spanish American War, and another commemorating one of the many lost souls lost on the SS Titanic. Thanks for the theme!

In Carshalton Village, this memorial honours the memory of local people who died in the First and Second World Wars. i.ibb.co/98k8qM8/CM.jpgDennis

Known as the pioneer cemetery it was last used in 1892 and many of the stones are broken, missing and moved from their original locations An old plan was recently discovered and there are thoughts about doing some restoration. Many of the remaining stones, like the one below, are children who died in a typhoid fever epidemic in the 1870's Tony

Also not a current image... from last year's Memorial Day observances at the local cemetery. I don't think they are doing it this year because of the health crisis.

Bill, two completely different captures yet linked by a common thread -- the many lives lost in both events. Great finding to fulfill this theme!

Beautiful setting for this cemetery. I like how you got close to the headstone in the second image and enabled us to learn about this child. A very poignant image!

***this is not a new photo but fits the theme. Judy, I like the angle you took your shot. Our eyes are drawn into the background, making us want to see more of this cemetery. Thanks for acknowledging this photo came from your archives!

Thank You For Your Service! Sarasota FL National Cemetery (Not a current picture) Wayne, great capture of this cemetery with its symmetrical rows of headstones! This is the kind of picture that grabs one’s attention. Thanks for acknowledging this picture was taken before this challenge!

Rick, this is a testimony to the BC days (Before COVID-19). The inclusion of the human element makes it a very poignant image. Thanks for acknowledging this image is not current!
