Our next IOW is a Members' Choice. Images submitted to this thread by Sunday August 9th at 7pm will be included.
Members may submit up to three images. While you may "like" an image that has been submitted, please don't add comments to this thread until after 7pm on August 9th.
At that time all members are invited to share their three top picks from the images submitted and the reasons they chose them.

Black-billed magpie. Most here will never have seen this bird which is confined to western North America, but not the west coast. When the sun hits them just so, they are rather pretty. Unfortunately, they are noisy pests. Near Cowley, Alberta, July 20, 2020.  |

My choices in the order they were submitted.......
Judy's cornflower is beautifully presented. I like the downward tilt of the petals, the song in the background and the hint of texture.
Clive's black-billed magpie is definitely a bird that I've never seen. He captured the bird in a perfect pose. I like the white feathers on its wings and the beautiful variation of color in the tail feathers.
The frame within a frame makes for a handsome presentation.
Rick's Arches pano above is a magnificent landscape. The blue sky and wispy clouds are the perfect background for the orange textured formations. I can imagine this printed LARGE and hung in a gallery.

I would like to say how wonderful all the images were, some amazing artistic and technical photos by those who know what they're doing.
My first choice goes to Srmoment and her 'standoff' image' to me this looks like some kind of ritual mating dance they are performing, until it's mentioned that they were duelling instead, but those outstretched wings seem to be an important part of the story.
I can't go past Helen's lotus flower, perfectly framed with a mysterious steamy and smoky background, and then there's the flower with all it's delicate details and raindrops to be admired.
I love fotofrank's 'now what do I do', seems like all spearfishing is not done the same, amazing details and an amazing moment captured in time, again all those tiny water droplets make it seem like it just happened.

My top picks in no special order would be...
Judy’s Cone Flower...I love the flower itself and the way it’s so nicely blended into that background.
Clive’s Black Billed Magpie...Beautiful looking bird with the colourful tail feathers and nicely presented.
Helen’s Lotus Flower... Loved this from the first moment I saw it. So beautifully framed and the flower just shines against that dark background.

Mine would be Easy Elegance, Wild Sunflower, Lotus Flower. But all are top notch.
