We are presently at the end of the current schedule. The next rotation will begin September 7, 2020. Many of the members who serve as volunteer judges have been doing it for quite awhile....some have been carried over from the old EV website. So we are talking about at least 5 years! It is only natural that someone would like to take a break from judging. I always think that volunteering shouldn't be a life sentence. Since we are now on an alternate week announcement, if you volunteered you would have one turn to judge over the next 6 months. It would be wonderful to have someone new step up to help. I hope to make out the new schedule within the next week. If you've given thought about being a judge in the past, now might be a good time to give it a try. There is a private board visible to judges where questions can be answered, you can switch your weeks if you need to and practice creating your post before it is seen on the website. Feel free to send me a PM or preferably post a reply in this thread. Thanks for considering this request.

It would be great to have some new volunteers for judging. If you enjoy the IOW, then please consider being a judge. It is fun and doesn't take up much time.

I’ve given this some thought and I am willing to take a turn to judge. However I’m hesitant in putting my name forward because as I think you all know by now I am not a photographer, nor do I pretend to be, so I don’t know how our members would feel about someone like myself being a judge!

Lillias Would be great if you'd jump in. I am not really a photoshopper either, so it works both ways, eh? You bring a strong background in Photoshop and scrap-booking, etc. Thanks Clive

Thanks Andy for encouraging members to consider joining our pool of judges. And thank you, Clive for reinforcing that message.
Lillias, you have such an artistic eye. Our judges all have their own criteria for making their choices for IOW. They could be impressed with the way the subject was handled, the message that was implied, their personal preference for a particular style, etc. You only need to be able to look at the work presented and decide which images speak to "you".....remembering that we all see things differently.
So unless you change your mind, I am taking you up on your offer to join our list of judges.

I would be willing to put in a stint, as long as good judgement isn't a requirement to be a judge.

Thanks, Rick. As I explained to Lillias, all that is required is a willingness to choose the images that you were especially drawn to, and share your choices with our members. Thrilled to have you both join our team of judges. I am a little bit behind in creating the new schedule but hope to get to it by the end of this week. At that time I will be sending you both the link to the private Judges board where you will find the pertinent information.
Welcome to both of you. If anyone else is considering being a judge feel free to post below.

Lillias, Rick, I am very happy that you decided to jump in. Thank you. There is a large part of subjectivity in the choices that can be made and great flexibility in the way you can deliver your message.
Lillias, I can only agree with Clive and Hellen’s good words; they are well deserved.
I also encourage anyone who would like to try. Please do not hesitate do so. It is a fun experience and you can be assured that you will be well supported.
