tonyw Tony: regarding the teasels I'd much prefer the top one of the dried heads. Have you thought of just one teasel head? hmca Helen: I prefer the cloud image with the boat. And thanks for you comment about the photo of Katie. I remember exactly when and where that was taken: family wedding in May '04 at Sylvan Lake. billz Bill, cool photo of the cabins on the lake .. the stuff of book covers.

One from today - was thinking about the discussion about Helen's boat giving a sense of scale to the space and tried something similar with a wind turbine and a group of cows  Went for a slightly off black using the new Color Grading adjustments in LR and ACR after applying a B&W profile (Acros which is one of the B&W profiles my Fuji camera uses)  Tony |

Tony, I went out today and came back with nothing. Like the toning you chose. Not sure if I think the cows are needed actually. I like the placement of the turbine. Also wonder what a square crop of just the turbine would look like?
Went back to look at this again....needs to be clicked to appreciate the perspective that the cows add to the image. Should have done that the first time!

I think it does, Judy. Thinking of some of those buildings in the magazine that took up a good amount of space and were enhanced by the use of negative space.

Looking through some pictures I took at the beach the other day, I isolated the shower tops against the sky. Thought this might work.....but they are large in the frame so not sure.  |

Good use of negative space, Rita......so I would say yes. Would be interesting to hear what others think.
