I got finished with running the "Recovery" disks (4 of them) last night before bedtime. It took me 6 hours because the Software Installation" portion ran 5 times. I didnt realize it at the time but that was because it was automatically installing "Updates" too. I was on the phone waiting for the HP tech's when the "Welcome Screen" popped up. We will now see how long this install will hang together.
Today will be spent downloading things and tweaking this machine.

Well guess what,,, it has cratered twice today so far,,,it lasted two maybe three days after the Recovery Procedure. I'm going to fiffle along thru the weekend then get with the store mgr. Monday and see if he was serious about an over the counter replacement on his nickle. Hp has a long drawn out ,,,,,,,,,,,,nuff said ,anybody got a big hammer. If i had some extra bucks it would be History for the trash barrel.

Oh, that is SO frustrating dick, I am sorry to hear you are having to go thru that. I send good wishes for an easy replacement experience.
