I'm wanting to share a few photos via email.
I'm trying to set up email client info under the "Share:Email" menu. I'm using either my gmail or my yahoo accounts. Neither work in Elements.
The instructions are copied below, but when I enter info as requested, I get the following error message:
"Please check your email address and password, and please try again."
I enabled Photoshop Elements through my Firewall utility.
When I click on the link that says: "Email configuration in Elements Organizer", I get...
404. Page not found.
Page not found. For help, visit Adobe Support.
Any idea what I should be doing differently?
Here's the instructions within Elements:
Set up the profile for a preset service provider
In Elements Organizer, select Preferences > Email. Click New. Enter a Profile Name. Choose any name that helps you identify your profile later. Select a service provider from the preset list. On the Email Settings screen, enter your name, email address, and password for the email address. Click Validate. Elements displays a confirmation message upon successful validation.
Note:
If your computer is behind a firewall, for validation to succeed, the firewall must allow communication on ports 465 and 587. Contact your system administrator if you see an error message about these ports being blocked.
Click OK.
If you get any error message or face any difficulty while configuring the email client, see Email configuration in Elements Organizer.

This notice I received from Google might provide the answer to why I am not able to establish an email connection from within the organizer:
Less secure app blocked Google blocked the app you were trying to use because it doesn't meet our security standards. Some apps and devices use less secure sign-in technology, which makes your account more vulnerable. You can turn off access for these apps, which we recommend, or turn on access if you want to use them despite the risks. Google will automatically turn this setting OFF if it's not being used. Here is the "Learn more" instruction from Google:
Less secure apps & your Google Account
If an app or site doesn’t meet our security standards, Google might block anyone who’s trying to sign in to your account from it. Less secure apps can make it easier for hackers to get in to your account, so blocking sign-ins from these apps helps keep your account safe. If "Less secure app access" is on for your account
Because less secure apps can make your account more vulnerable, Google will automatically turn this setting off if it’s not being used.
If "Less secure app access" is still on for your account, we recommend turning it off now and switching to more secure apps. Turn off "Less secure app access"
To help keep your account secure, we recommend that you keep this setting off and use more secure apps.
Go to the Less secure app access section of your Google Account. You might need to sign in. Turn Allow less secure apps off.
*******************
How does Google's message comport with your experience? Is it true that Adobe couldn't match their security standards with Google, even though Adobe recommends using either Gmail or Yahoo?

UPDATE: I just changed Gmail's settings to enable "Less secure apps" and the email with photo was sent.
So, how concerned should we be with these "less secure apps?" I almost feel like the "Christmas Story" mother is hovering over me exclaiming I'll shoot my eye out.
