Even with just 10 entries, I am having a hard time selecting my three top picks and keep changing my mind! Finally I decided to go with the idea of the decisive moment. So here they are in the order they were presented. 1. Slip-Sliding by srmoment is not your typical dog portrait. Capturing him as he tries to navigate the ice, with one paw raised ready for the next step, was such a fun idea. The lighting, reflection and painterly background combine to make this a delightful image.
2. The Chess Players by PeteB . Both of the players look very intent on their game. I like the fact that the hand was caught mid-air as the player contemplates his move. Also of interest was the expression on the opponent as he watched the board.
3. Says the Spider to the Fly by dandc. Much like the image above, we see an appendage raised about to make its move only in this case the other "player" in the scene seems totally unaware.

As usual our members don’t make it easy to choose just 3 photos. However in the order presented I have chosen Slip Sliding by srmoment...It’s just such a cute photo and I can sympathise with the poor pup. Sitting Pretty by kathylee...Love the pose of this colourful fellow. Misty Lighting by alexr...I keep getting drawn back to this one as it gives the imagination a bit of a work out. Love the lighting. Well done everyone.

Sitting Pretty by kathylee - this bird, is wonderfully captured and detailed with that mysterious 'bird eye' which tells you nothing, while at the same time stating "admire me, I am beautiful".
Misty Lighting by alexr - I agree with BillieJean that there is something about this image that draws you back. What are those lights??? ...and the beautiful color and lighting are wonderful, with the tree lit up and the branches trailing off into .....somewhere/nowhere.......
Chess Players by PeteB - an intense capture of a thought process in motion. The two players in their baseball caps/hoody/jeans seem atypical of one's traditional view of chess players. ...and apparently the game is intense because the player on the left is on his second cup of coffee.

All cool photos. I'll mention two. PeteB 's Chess Players is just neat ... couple of young guys playing chess over a coffee. Nice composition and background texture. Pat's ( srmoment) Bernese Mountain Dog on the ice is just fun and the washed background with subtle colors is pleasing and probably covers some distractions. Clive

Slip-sliding and the chess players are my 2 picks for reasons already explained by others. All are good photos. PSE&M members are also creative photographers.
