Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in this challenge? Just post a photo or photos which will be your interpretation of the theme.
The rules are rather simple.
Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping. You are to experiment and, most of all, have fun.

Sepiana, you have put me in a position in which I can't contribute a photo taken this week from Sydney for the summertime challenge being that we are in the midst of winter here. I would like to participate though and will offer up this photo I took last week in Japan of a professional baseball game involving the Tokyo Swallows. After all, what is summer without baseball, a hot dog, and a cold one to wash it down with! i.cubeupload.com/b2Fp5B.jpg

As a side note -- There is a lot of leeway in the "Summertime" theme. If one is in the southern hemisphere, summer is a fleeting memory but this memory can be captured to fulfill this theme. What brings back those memories of summer? It could be a shot of an ice-cream cone, of a book (summer-reading), of bare feet, of a little tropical plant/flower tucked in the corner of a room, etc., etc.

It doesn't matter that the weather is generally cold enough for woollen sweaters and coats, the shops are trying hard to convince us that we really need bikinis, sunglasses and straw hats for our wonderful British summer!! Bayla

Lawn bowls is very much a summer time pursuit and if the weather is favourable, as it promises to be next week, it is perfect. But shortly after I took this photo, it rained!
I hope that the photograph comes out OK - in the Preview the ends seemed to be chopped off and there should have been a lot more players in view.

Blackmutt, strawberries indeed! Great capture! What would summertime be without these little berries?

Dennis,
This is so English! I love it. I always associate lawn bowls with summertime in England.

I had big plans for this theme. I was going to drive along the banks of the Mississippi river, stop at some small quaint towns and try to capture Summertime -- sail boats on the river, families on a picnic, full campgrounds, farmer’s markets, etc. I was in for a surprise. The waters of the Mighty Mississippi are swelling due to all the rainfall we have had and is now begining to spill into the streets of these communities. This river continues to rise as rain continues to fall. The forecast is for it to crest at a height of 32.5 ft on this coming Tuesday.
