Hi bodger, welcome to PSE&M! You came to the right place for all things Elements. Let's see what we can do to help you. For starters, here are some questions. Your answers will determine the direction of our troubleshooting. Thanks in advance! - Are you on a PC or on a Mac? - Any printing problems when you use Elements 9? - Any printing problems when you use another software such as Word?

Many Thanks Sepiana I am using a Pc windows 10 . No printing is fine with Elements 9 , and also in Paint , I have not tried Word Hope this helps bodger, thanks for answering my questions! I was going to make the same suggestion as Chris to delete the Preferences file but you already tried it and it didn't solve the problem. I may be wrong but I'm still thinking the culprit is Elements 15. Let's see if this is a matter of permission levels. 1. Right-click on the desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator". 2. Test the printing situation. 3. If everything is working fine, close Elements. 4. Open Elements again but this time do it from your standard user account. 5. Test the printing situation.

Bodger, here is some more information I have found that might help. helpx.adobe.com/cy_en/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-printing-problems.htmlAs a test try, printing from PSE 15 to a pdf printer or another printer to see if that makes a difference. If you can print to a pdf printer and not to your physical printer, that might indicate PSE 15 has the wrong settings for your physical printer. Kind regards Chris

If you haven't already done so, go on the Canon web site and make sure that you have the latest driver. If you are attempting to print via the organizer, try printing via the editor, or vice versa. The print engines are not the same.

HI Everybody I am overwhelmed with the help and advice you have offered, many thanks to all I would like to apologise to Chris for my reply to his first suggestion ,about looking in Preferences , I had overlooked RESET PREFERENCES AT NEXT LAUNCH , as I had assumed it did not relate to printing . ; I have tried and it has let it ,and have got the printer recognised , but it tells me one of my inks has run out { green],so I cannot use the printer , but feel sure it has solved problem 1. Many thanks to Cris, Sepiana, and Entropy

bodger, Glad to hear this latest development. Good thing Chris thought of the Preferences variable. The points of the compass were leading to Elements 15 being the culprit and not the printer. If it had been the printer itself (the driver), you would probably have problems when using Elements 9 or other software.

"Many printer manufacturers frequently update their software drivers. If you haven't updated the printer driver recently, contact the printer manufacturer for an updated driver, or download one from the manufacturer's website." This advice is cogent in view of the migration from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
