What choices should one make when posting here?

Sorry, I can't help you. I am never given those choices. Maybe Sepiana can.

Michael imgbb seems to have change their "copy image" deets format. From inside your imgbb account, if you selected a specific image from your gallery and hit "C," a window would pop up and offer image options. One option was the jpg URL code and the other was a proprietary imgbb URL code. That does not answer your question. Peeking out behind your drop down menu there is a "qqqqq-1.jpg" URL showing. You can't go wrong ( should not go wrong) copying that URL. I suspect the drop down menu option for that would be the HTML image. Give it a try. From my imgbb gallery I selected this eagle photo. When right clicked (I am a left mouser so left click) a menu shows up that says "Copy image address." That copied address is the jpg URL. This is pasted into the PSEM "insert image" window. Voila. EDIT: but the weird part is this displayed image is way larger than what normally appears with we use "Add image to post via imgbb.com" ... so someone else will have to help.
Not sure of that helps or hinders. Clive

Sorry, I can't help you. I am never given those choices. Maybe Sepiana can. It looks like stinson opened an imgbb account. I don't have an imgbb account; this is what I get.

Thanks for trying, pontiac1940 . I appreciate your response, Sepiana . That is what I see as well.

When I want to add an image to a post, I click the Add image to post via imgbb.com button and see what Sepiana posted. I click on it, navigate to the folder with the file I want and click on it, then after clicking the Open button I am returned to the Create Post editor.
To preview the image in my post before clicking Create Post I must click the BBCode tab and then click the Preview tab at the bottom of the editor.

Thanks Michael It's all over the map. As has been noted, to post a photo the simplest is to use "Add image to post via imgbb.com" Adding a photo already in your imgbb gallery is bit more challenging as you have demonstrated. Clive

pontiac1940 Got it but I set up an account so I could control my photos. If no account then I either delete them on some schedule in which case they no longer show here, or I have to take a different route which is an account. If you use the link, and you logged into IMGBB then it adds it to your account and that works fine.

All of this has brought up questions:
Is it "legal" for us commoners to post those full-page images instead of the little narrow ones we usually get ?
Is it possible, if "legal", to get those full page images without having an account ?
I don't ever remember creating an imgbb account; are they storing every image I post anyway ?
Thanks.

Necessarily so; that is the purpose of image hosting. If they didn't keep your image it would not be visible here. If you ever delete an image from imgbb.com it will disappear from here as well.

Exactly why I made an account so they can't own them forever. I now have control over them and can have them in albums. I did set some of my postings to auto delete before then. Also I noticed in some threads on here images are missing. So you have to decide how you want to handle it. I don't think you can undo prior postings.

They keep them for a really long time. I was looking for some tutorials I posted and the images were still in the threads a couple of years later. I'm surprised they don't 'clean house' more often than that - just to keep their storage costs down. I do not have an account, but no longer post things I don't want out 'there' forever. It doesn't matter if you systematically delete things in your account on a regular basis, once it's 'out there' it's never going away because one can share it on other sources and it will live on.
Want a scare? Google your screen name. I've found postings from 8 years ago.
