Grandpa didn't get the memo about the blue shirt, but to give him a break, at least he has blue insets in his shoe soles. You never cease to surprise me! Great photographer’s eyes. A variety of blue subjects along with leading lines and shadows. Here's another take on a plain blue sky shot in harsh, late-morning light. Not sure if I like it or not, but it's different. I like it! The expanse of the blue sky framed by the buildings in silhouette. An eye-catching image!

Kind of Blue: in our yard today. Some flowers and a wind spinner. Clive, good choice of caption. The flowers are predominantly blue; the wind spinner has other colors sneaking in.

The time of the year when chicory appears along the roadsides here - always reminds me of Camp Coffee (which I was brought up on but never liked much). The fire hydrants around here recently got repainted to conform to the American Water Works Association standard where the colour of the bonnet tells firefighters what the maximum water flow is. Blue is the highest at >1500 gpm, followed by green (1000 to 1499 gpm) orange (500-1499) red (<500} and black (not working!). Tony, two different subjects yet both "dressed up” in blue. And, as usual, a great capture. Amazing details!

A sea of blue in the lavender fields above Carshalton. Brenda Brenda, I really like this. Great filling-the-frame composition! It does look like the sea -- waves of blue lavender cresting over the green of the foliage.

Blue Lupine in an aspen grove, high in the Colorado mountains. Rick, great shot on more than one count -- DOF, portrait orientation (following the vertical lines of the Lupine), clear details of this flower.

Frank, just two words -- simply beautiful! My favorite is the peacock image. The blue on his feathers looks iridescent (right word)?

Most of our rose blooms get quickly scorched by our hot summer sun but I was able to salvage a few smaller ones today; Paul Neyron (the pink Hybrid Perpetual) and Climbing Don Juan (the red Climbing Hybrid Tea).
(Used BLUE vessels of course) Jim, beautiful and colorful image! Despite all the other colors sneaking in, Blue stood its ground.

Blue is my favorite color. Lots to choose from in the kitchen but went with these blue canisters. And guess what mine is, Helen.
