I need to use my TV for editing so picture to edit is bigger to work with, problem is is shows darker on the TV than on my laptop, anyone know how to solve.
If I use tv remot to adjust then when putting it bavk to tv its changed the contrast/brightness.

It would act just like your monitor on the laptop and you can adjust it with Spyder or some other devices/software. I got to the point where the laptop I used to use was too small so I did just that. A monitor might work better than the tv you're using, since it would be part of your system.

PSE is the main reason I still have a desktop. Although I have only a 21.5 inch monitor, it's bigger than my laptop and I like having a separate mouse.

Jim, Have you ever thought of getting an external monitor to use with your laptop? tourerjimJim, that's something to consider. I've used another monitor for ~12 years as a laptop has been my main computer for many years. I have a Asus 28" 4K monitor which I like. However, if you decided to buy a monitor, you might try (say) a 24-inch monitor first. Sometimes I have to lean toward the monitor and the 28 inches is almost to wide. I also use a separate keyboard and mouse with my laptop...not a fan of laptop keyboard or touch pads. My laptop does double duty at home and at the summer place and I carry it back and forth. I only use the laptop monitor while I am away and the big one at home. Clive

Hope your eyesight gets back to normal soon, Jim! I hope my solution works for you. I have a 32-inch BenQ monitor (as big as one of my tvs) that I bought when I was using a 19-inch laptop. It was a great solution and now that I have a desktop computer again, it really is wonderful!

I don't know of any trick to match the TV to your laptop - short of what you are already doing adjusting the contrast/brightness.

Thanks Clive, my sons popping up tomorrow to set the screen to suit me eyes, it has 8 presets and though each change screen slightly all seem to look very much grey ish but that's most likely to do with me eyes, he did try to help over the phone but difficult when looking close to the screen trying to adjust.

150 mile round trip for my son and thought nowt of it just pleased he was able to set the monitor up for his old man, I now have 3 presets for monitor, 1 for daylight, 1 for evenings and 3rd one for me if I need to adjust brightness, he also sorted the greyish screen I was getting even though he hadn't noticed, he also gave me cordless keyboard but didn't get on very well with it so he's set me up with virtual keyboard which is much easier for me, think I've earned me cuppas today π
