I usually look at "New Posts" first and when I click on one that says "so-and-so's gallery" it shows from one to several images. Although I can see small print above their photo showing a number of "likes" received by that image, I do not see any way that I also can add a "like". Sometimes I just want to click a quick "like" instead of leaving a comment. Please advise. Thanks.

Jim, if you click Latest Gallery Posts from the header you will see the individual images that have recently been added to member galleries. This will allow you to "Like" an image.

Thank you Helen. That helps but I guess I'm still not grasping the concept of why, under "New Posts" for John Doe's Gallery for instance, it shows you several photos by John Doe and often only 1-2 of those photos are actually "new" i.e., posted in the last day or two? No biggie really.

No biggie really. I think the problem is that the button on the main menu labeled New posts really should say something like Most Recent Posts, because that is what it shows you! The New Posts button displays all posts, starting with the most recent. The ones with the red New icon are posts that you haven't viewed yet, and so really are new to you. Here is my process for managing the new posts: Whenever I log on I click New Posts and look at the new ones that look interesting to me. After that I click the Select drop-down and choose New (which selects all the posts flagged as new to me), and then in the Actions drop-down I chose Mark as Read. BTW: The easiest way to see the most recent additions to all member galleries is to click the Latest Gallery Posts button on the main menu. If you are unfamiliar with this button, give it a try right now; you will be glad you did! In addition to being able to easily see the latest gallery posts, you can LIKE posts from here (which can't be done from within a gallery, but you can add comments from within a gallery)

When I click the actions drop-down it doesn't offer me "mark as read"... only "Mark as new", "bookmark", "share thread", and "go to previous/next thread". No problem though. At least now I can figure out how to see someone's most recent gallery posts, which was my main challenge.

Thanks for your input, Tom. When I click the actions drop-down it doesn't offer me "mark as read"... only "Mark as new", "bookmark", "share thread", and "go to previous/next thread". Ah, yes! That is what the allowable Actions are when you are viewing the posts within a thread. If you are viewing the list of threads within a board or the list of New Posts, the Actions drop-down will contain All, None, Read and New.
The key point is that the menus and drop-downs are context-sensitive, they will change depending on where you are in the navigation tree.
Right now, you are reading a post within the Individual user gallery question thread. This thread is in the Forum Suggestions and Feedback board. If you go up one level, viewing all the threads within this board, the Actions drop-down will change. The Actions you can do within a single thread are different than the Actions you can take when viewing a bunch of threads.
