My brushes don't seem to be working problem. I keep getting a message the default brush .abr file can't be found, but it is there. I download a fur brush and tried to load it but it couldn't be found. I then copied the .abr file and moved it to where the rest of my non-adobe brushes could be found, loaded it and it worked. However, when I changed brushes back to default (getting the default can't be found message, but the default abr file was there), and then tried to go back to the fur brush, it was nowhere to be found.
I think, I need to start over and reload the brushes so they work properly, but I am not sure how to do this?k
Help please!
Pat

Hi Pat, You can reset the Brush Tool by clicking on the stacked lines on the right side of the tool option Then click on reset tool The reset left my installed brushes intact

Hi Pat Frank has likely given all you need. This post might confuse your problem, but possibly there is something of value. Those rascally brushes are regular Ninjas at hiding. Good luck! Clive

Pat, The way I understand it you are talking about third-party brushes and you are loading them (Load button) instead of installing them. Be assured! If you are using the Load technique, you will encounter a "disappearing act" by the Brush tool. This is by design; it is not a case of the Brush tool misbehaving. Here is a video which explains the Load technique in detail. Around the 4:50 mark, Rick Peterson discusses "disappearing" brushes. Load Brushes In Photoshop Elements

Thanks everyone. Problem solved with all of your help! This was a case of me not understanding the difference between loaded brushes and installed brushes.
